Okay, Barbara, looks like we’re ready to begin the first – wait a minute! Something is driving onto the piste – I can’t believe my eyes, Barbara! It’s a Light Cycle from the TRON System – and the orange can only mean one thing – that’s Rinzler at the controls! Is Rinzler an honorary member of BlueShift? Should be RedShift if you ask me, Barbara, haha!

Rinzler! Can you tell the audience why you’re here at the tournament today?

“GRRRRRR.”

There you have it folks! Rinzler in the flesh – or not, I suppose. It looks like both Referee Bidness and Saladin, first up from the Yestermorrow team, are not very happy about having a Light Cycle at the en garde line. But Rinzler has deferred to the ref and set his Light Cycle aside.

The fencers square off, and here we go!

Saladin performs a stunning lunge, but he can’t beat Rinzler’s speed! Rinzler flings one of his Identity Discs and “derezes” Saladin! What a blow to the Yestermorrow team, not to mention a flagrant violation of league rules!

Rinzler doesn’t seem to care; he’s back on his Light Cycle and – there he goes!
What a tragedy for Yestermorrow and the Ayyubid Dynasty to lose a warrior like Saladin!
Well, Referee Bidness isn’t having it. He’s thrown out the whole bout! These teams will have to start over.
It really gives you pause for thought, Barbara. How a program could enter what we consider reality and derez someone who appears to be human … just makes you wonder whether any of this is real or if it’s all just a simulation inside a computer somewhere.
