First up is Rossella Fiamingo, the Italian fencer representing Hic et Nunc, and a newcomer to BlueShift’s team, Sanna Ekstrom.

The fencers take their places on the en garde line, and for an added bit of novelty, the BlueShift fencer is actually wearing a helmet!

At the cry of “Fence!” Sanna Ekstrom is off the line with a savage cut to five, parried by Fiamingo.

The Italian traces Ekstrom’s blade, hunting for an opening, but Ekstrom’s not budging!

Ekstrom rallies and makes another aggressive lunge, narrowly missing Fiamingo’s glove and nearly losing her balance! What energy on the piste this afternoon!

And Fiamingo lunges to five, suffering a touch to the glove from a quick parry-riposte and that’s the final touch of this very … VERY long bout!
