Last night I dreamed I was Evan the Overwhelmed Network Guy.
I’m self-taught, which means I’m mostly making it up as I go along. I buys a lot of Lego on BrickOwl and had always dreamed of having an Access database of all my parts. Last night I dreamed I was teaching myself to use VBA to parse the JSON result of an API call. Turns out every Lego part has between three and eight different ID numbers, all of which the API returns in a single object with identical field names, so the code needs some kinda recursive logic? Maybe? Why are there so many ID fields? What the hell does “subscript out of range” mean? Why did I spend so much money on plastic? How am I going to afford retirement? This sucks.
