One of the principal gods worshipped in Alhabor is Mulciber, the Midnight Sun. Mulciber governs death, the afterlife, wealth, and acquisition. The priesthood of Mulciber is in constant opposition with the Mage-King and his government, as both seek to accumulate the vast riches of the volcano.
Beneath the Temple of Mulciber is the Underground Market, a place where all the unregulated commerce of the city takes place. The Underground Market is an open secret; the priests pay the Mage-King’s soldiers to look the other way.
