Well, it’s been a rough day for Yestermorrow, although I suppose I’m not surprised given their inferior technology. I have to say, I thought there were rules about the kind of equipment permitted on the piste, but things don’t seem to be shaping up that way.

Next up is the famous kendo master Chiba Shūsaku representing Yestermorrow and BlueShift’s team captain Azure Ray. Chiba Shūsaku has chosen to double-wield, another violation of regulations, but probably justified given the menacing energy weapon Azure Ray wields.

The ref cries “Fence!” and Azure Ray is first off the line with a stunning cut to five, which Chiba Shūsaku – blocks? Incredible! How are his conventional weapons able to block Azure Ray’s energy blade?

Wait, Barbara! Chiba Shūsaku’s blade have burst into flame – they’re energy weapons, too! Where did the kendo master get such weapons?

Referee Bidness intervenes, pausing the bout! Looks like he’s got some suspicions about what’s inside the kendo master’s helmet – you remember the incident with the Knight of the Banana Peel yesterday?

Look, Barbara! That’s not Chiba Shūsaku! That’s Andrei Antonov! It looks like he’s chosen to betray BlueShift and Captain Azure Ray!

Azure doesn’t look too happy about her soldier’s disloyalty. Referee Bidness has a solution for them – they can fight it out on the piste!

At the cry of “Fence!” Azure Ray is first off the line again – and this time, Andrei Antonov’s blades aren’t fast enough! Off goes his head in a fountain of blood, and let me tell you, Barbara, my stomach’s had about all it can stomach with this bout!
Elimination Round One goes to BlueShift! They’ll be moving on to the next round!
